So the only reason I use windows is due to needing to use IE with some app tests, the rest is done from BackTrack.<\/p>\n

At the GlosLUG<\/a> meeting last night someone mentioned an automated script for installing IE6 under wine so I thought I would give it a go.<\/p>\n

IEs 4 Linux<\/a> uses wine and downloads everything else thats needed from Microsoft so things work great. <\/p>\n

The first thing you need to ensure is that you have the latest wine and cabextract installed:<\/p>\n

sudo apt-get install cabextract wine<\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div>\n

You then need to download the package from the website<\/a> to do it manually or you can install for a specific distribution.<\/p>\n

During install you have a choice of IE versions and where to put the icon.<\/p>\n
